Predefined asset strategies and twin models ensure rapid time-to-value
Over 200 of the most common industrial asset classes make up the HxGN APM Asset Twin Library. Based on domain expertise and strategy definition, the embedded asset library enables fast twin implementation, allowing you to operationalise an asset strategy rapidly. So, instead of spending significant time and IT resources, you can have asset protections up and running in minutes. The HxGN APM Asset Twin Library contains failure modes, preventative maintenance activities, defined inputs, analytics and prescriptive actions that you can tune to your assets’ operational context.
The result? A rapid time-to-value
The setup is straightforward. Whenever you need to protect an asset from failure, pull a model from the library. Then, map it to your operational and maintenance data sources, adjust for operating context, and activate. HxGN APM will monitor the asset in real-time and notify you if any threats emerge from that point forward. An innovative method to activate your failure management
As a maintenance and reliability professional, you are keenly aware that a well- thought- out maintenance and monitoring strategy is the key element to minimising the number of reactive activities that consume your day and possibly late nights and weekends. Improving asset performance has always involved a proper understanding of how an asset can fail and then having the proper countermeasures in place to guard against the consequences of failure.
This has typically been the focus of asset strategy development methods like reliability centered maintenance (RCM) or failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), but the cost and complexity associated with these approaches have limited use in the biggest and most complex industrial environments. While these methods effectively define the general “what” should be done or monitored, they typically fall short when it comes time to implementing and operationalising the resulting asset strategy.

Together, the Asset, Failure Modes and Protections provide an active digital model of current conditions, risks and potential threats. Through an Asset Twin, the asset strategy is “operationalized” to provide a line of sight to potential failure risks, the status of mitigation activities and decisions that need to be made. Asset Twins provide a practical approach to Asset Performance Management that any industrial organization, regardless of size and maturity, can deploy today.
Asset
The virtual definition of the Asset, business objectives, mission time and typical failure rate. Risk is then assessed to detail the impact of a potential failure and drive prioritisation of prescriptive actions.
Failure Modes
Dominant failure modes are defined. For each of these failure modes, protections are identified to mitigate the risk of those failures. These protections can be activity-based such as preventive maintenance activities. Other protections are condition-based that include monitoring of asset conditions with available condition or time series data.
Protections
Protections are deployed for each failure mode to actively monitor equipment health, performance and preventative maintenance activities and guard against unexpected failure risks. When emerging threats are detected, prescriptive and proactive action is triggered.
